Well, this hasn’t been what I would call a “great experience”. cPanel has been… rough, to say the least. The steps to “get your webpage created and published” are unclear, because I went through everything and hit publish only to find no changes and I’m ready to call it a night. I’ll post a follow-up when I figure out what’s wrong and can get it corrected.
Update: alright, getting the webpage to load was a matter of a hosting configuration option I had not set properly, but the SSL issue still appears and causes a warning when navigating to the placeholder home page I had made a few months ago. I’ve owned the URL for years but until recently had intended to host it myself. That’s no longer my plan and I moved to paid hosting but this involved changing the nameservers option (which I didn’t see mentioned anywhere) to the Web Hosting DNS. Closer, but not quite there yet.
